About Kate Rodgers

My name is Kate Rodgers and I am one of the proud Blair Mill school counselors. I have been in education for 20 years. I received my bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from La Salle University, and I spent a decade teaching in the classroom. In 2012, I earned my first master's degree in School Counseling at Arcadia University and completed my second master's in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University in 2019. I truly love being a school counselor as I am able to support, advocate for, provide safety, and help all Blair Mill students in a variety of ways. Outside of school, I enjoy going on adventures small and large with my family and friends. My husband Tom and I welcomed our first children, twin girls, in December of 2014 and add my son to our family in June of 2018. I look forward to serving alongside the wonderful Blair Mill staff to support your child and family in being simply the best!

About Quaneesha Shields

Hi Blair Mill families! I am Ms. Shields, and I am so excited to serve as your school counselor. I believe every child deserves to feel seen, valued, heard, and loved. Whether a student needs someone to listen, encouragement through a challenge, or a trusted adult to talk to, I want every child to know that they can always come to me for support.

A little bit about me: I love listening to music, spending time at the beach, traveling, and making memories with my family. I also love the peacefulness of farm life and enjoy spending time with my family’s chickens. Another joy of my life is being a proud big sister to my little sister, who reminds me to enjoy the little things in life.

Fun Fact: I was once a Blair Mill student myself! I was in 5th grade here many years ago, and it feels incredibly special to now return to this community as a school counselor.

I earned my bachelor’s degree from La Salle University in Elementary Education, Special Education, and American Studies. After college, I served as a Lasallian Volunteer teacher in California and Missouri, which strengthened my passion for supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional growth. I later earned my master’s degree in School Counseling from Saint Mary’s College of California and am currently pursuing my doctorate in Educational Leadership at Valdosta State University.

At the heart of my work as a school counselor is the belief that when students feel accepted, loved, and empowered, they can grow, learn, and become the best versions of themselves. I am honored to be part of the Blair Mill community and look forward to helping every student feel that they belong and are capable of great success.
