School Counseling

Meet the Counselors

Kate Rodgers

My name is Kate Rodgers and I am excited to be joining the Blair Mill family this year. I have been in education for 16 years. I received my bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from La Salle University, and I spent a decade teaching in the classroom. In 2012, I earned my first master's degree in School Counseling at Arcadia University and completed my second master's in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University in 2019. I truly love being a school counselor as I am able to support, advocate for, provide safety, and help all Blair Mill students in a variety of ways. Outside of school, I enjoy going on adventures small and large with my family and friends. My husband Tom and I welcomed our first children, twin girls, in December of 2014 and add my son to our family in June of 2018. I look forward to serving alongside the wonderful Blair Mill staff to support your child and family in being simply the best!

Quaneesha Shields

Hello! My name is Ms. Quaneesha Shields, and my pronouns are She/Her/Hers. I love listening to music, spending time at the beach, traveling (my favorite travel location is hands down Rwanda) and I’m a sucker for spending quality time with my family. I have an almost two-year old sister who means absolutely everything to me! FUN FACT: I was a student at Blair Mill in 5th grade way back in the day. 😊

I graduated from La Salle University with my BA in Elementary Education, Special Education, and American Studies. After college, I was a Lasallian Volunteer teacher in California and Missouri. Then, I went to graduate school and received my MA in School Counseling from Saint Mary’s College of California. While in California, I had the opportunity to serve amazing students and developed the following philosophy: All students deserve to feel seen, valued, heard, and loved. When students feel accepted and celebrated for who they are, successful learning and growth happens from within!
