Earlier this month, students from Hatboro-Horsham High School's National Art Honor Society (NAHS) volunteered to assist painter Sarah Fogg in the creation of two murals upon the Joseph J. Lannon Jr. Memorial Bridge in Hatboro at the intersection of Horsham Rd and York Rd.
In collaboration with the Millbrook Society, the Hatboro Rotary Club commissioned the murals to celebrate the past and present of the Hatboro community. The pair of 81-foot murals feature depictions of numerous local landmarks such as the Hatboro Federal building and the Isaiah Lukens Clock at Loller Academy.
Speaking as the NAHS advisor who organized the community service opportunity for her students, HHHS Art Teacher Leah Ellert said, "As folks walked and drove by sharing encouraging words and car horn beeps, the faces of the kids were full of smiles knowing they were taking an active role in using their artistic skills to beautify our town."
If you'd like an excuse to come down and see the mural up-close and personal, head to the "Party in The Park" event organized by the Borough of Hatboro on August 14 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Pennypack Community Center for a fun-filled event featuring games, activities, food, and more!
