Sarah Stout is excited to serve as the principal of Simmons Elementary School and to rejoin the Hatboro-Horsham School District. Earlier in her career, she enjoyed her time as an assistant principal at Keith Valley Middle School. After nearly 25 years dedicated to middle-level education, she's looking forward to starting this wonderful new chapter with the students, families, and staff of Simmons.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Stout has worn many hats—as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. Most recently, she had the honor of being the founding principal of Black Rock Middle School, where she brought together students and staff from various communities to help open a new school. She also served as principal of Bala Cynwyd Middle School and assistant principal of Welsh Valley Middle School.

Mrs. Stout believes that children learn best when they feel safe, understood, valued, and challenged in a supportive way. She's passionate about forming strong relationships, encouraging joyful learning, and supporting excellent teaching practices. Above all, she’s excited to help sustain a welcoming community where every child truly feels they belong. Her leadership is rooted in teamwork, restorative practices, careful problem-solving, and a deep respect for the voices of students, families, and staff.

Mrs. Stout can’t wait to discover the special traditions that make Simmons unique, celebrate its many strengths, and work together with everyone to create a warm, engaging, and caring school experience for all students.
