Creative Arts

6th Grade:

All 6th grade students participate in the Creative Arts and World Language Exploratory Rotation which meets every other day for one marking period.  Students will explore ALL of the course offerings listed below. 

6th Grade Courses

·         World Language (Spanish and French)

·         Family and Consumer Sciences 

·         Music

·         Art

·         STEAM

7th Grade:

In the Creative Arts and World Language rotation, students choose two majors from the list below (full year – 40-minute classes on Red days) to provide an in-depth study in student-selected areas, and will be assigned four minor elective courses (one marking period - 85 minute classes on Black Days) to round out a student’s experience in the creative arts.

·         Fine Arts

·         Family Consumer Sciences

·         Health and Physical Education

·         STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math

·         Performing Arts

o   Band

o   Chorus

o   Orchestra

o   Combinations

·         World Language

o   French 1A (Grade 7), French 1B (Grade 8)

o   Spanish 1A (Grade 8), Spanish 1B (Grade 8)

 

8th Grade:
