OCTOBER 22, 2025 PSAT DAY
9TH GRADERS
We have a fantastic morning planned for the Class of 2029 β they will be engaged with Link Crew Leaders and 9th-grade teachers. Students will also provide us with feedback on their transition to HH and what we can do to support them further, continue building their class culture, and foster group connections. Students will be dismissed between 10:30 am β 10:45 am, along with the rest of the 10th & 11th-grade students. The 9th graders do NOT need to bring their laptops or backpacks on this day, and they should also dress comfortably.
10TH & 11TH GRADERS
Hatboro-Horsham School District allows each student in grades 10 & 11 to take the PSAT free of charge. This year, the PSAT is being offered electronically by the College Board; there is no paper/pencil PSAT test. So, it is essential that on this day, students arrive with their laptops fully charged. Students taking the PSAT donβt need to do anything further.
*EASTERN Center students taking the PSAT are excused from EASTERN for the day.
The ASVAB
11th- and 12th-grade students who might be considering the military are able to take the ASVAB on this day, as opposed to the PSAT. The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. Spaces are limited to approximately 35 students in grades 11 & 12. Students must register HERE by September 30th if they wish to take the test. Students will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis.
We will have a late bus for students at 11:00 for regular dismissal and a bus at 12:30 for students who are required to have extended-time testing.
12TH GRADERS
Our 12th-grade students will engage in a post-secondary exploration day. As a result, they will not attend school on October 16th, as they are not participating in the PSAT test administration. However, we encourage seniors to participate in post-secondary and career readiness opportunities. Here is an example of what we believe to be an excellent use of time for our 12th-grade students:
Participation in a large/local college fair
Seniors can use this day for local or regional college/university visits.
Seniors can work on college essay(s) and resume building.
Counselors have office hours to assist students with college applications and post-secondary planning from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Seniors in our Internship class can engage and extend their work hours (up to four additional hours can be earned on this day).
Seniors can engage in community service/service-learning opportunities in the Hatboro/Horsham community and beyond.
While EASTERN Center Seniors are not required to attend on this day, they are welcome to do so and use the time to extend their vocational learning. The district will provide transportation for AM/PM students.
