Band Ensembles
Concert Band
The HH Concert Band is a dynamic, performance-based ensemble that provides students with the opportunity to develop their musicianship, teamwork, and appreciation for diverse musical styles. Open to students with prior instrumental experience, this course focuses on playing a variety of musical genres while developing strong technical skills on wind and percussion instruments. It is the only performing band ensemble at Hatboro-Horsham High School that also runs as a class during the school day, and is under the direction of Ms. Erica Westcott.
Many students in the Concert Band successfully audition for and participate in prestigious honors ensembles such as the Montgomery County Honors Band, PMEA District 11 Band, PMEA Region 6 Band, and Pennsylvania All-State Band. There are additional opportunities to perform with extracurricular concert groups such as the Liberty Youth Wind Symphony, Youth Orchestra of Bucks County, and Philadelphia Youth Orchestra/Symphonic Band.
The Concert Band performs in concerts throughout the course of the year, which include the Winter Concert (December), All Band Night (late February/early March), and the Spring Concert (early May).
Jazz Band
Under the direction of Mr. Chris Kuczynski, this group is by audition only and rehearses on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. The group performs in concerts and at many community functions. Contact Mr. Kuczynski early in the school year for audition material and criteria.
