Dr. Samuel González, Ed.D.

Assistant Principal

Dear Hallowell Families,

Welcome to a new school year at Hallowell Elementary! My name is Dr. Samuel González, and I am honored to continue serving as your Assistant Principal. Hallowell is a special place, and I look forward to continuing to build strong relationships with our students, staff, and families as we work together for every child’s success.

Before joining Hallowell full time, I served as Assistant Principal at both Simmons and Hallowell Elementary Schools. Prior to my time in Hatboro-Horsham, I taught elementary primary and intermediate grades in the Pennsbury School District and served as a K–5 Literacy Specialist. In addition, I was a District Equity Liaison and building coordinator for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). I have also taught as an adjunct professor at Penn State University and proudly served in the United States Army National Guard.

I hold a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Saint Joseph’s University, with research focused on structured literacy practices aligned to the scientific evidence of reading instruction. I also earned a Master’s in Reading, Writing, and Literacy from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Penn State University. My certifications include K-12 Reading Specialist, K-12 English as a second language program specialist, K-4 Elementary Teacher, and K-12 Principal.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Esther, our dog, Minnie, and serving at my church. I also have a passion for music, reading, and exercising, which help keep me energized and balanced.

Alongside our Principal Mr. Steve Glaize, my goal is to ensure Hallowell is a safe, inclusive, and inspiring place where students thrive. Please feel free to reach out at sgonzale@hatboro-horsham.org or (215) 420-5907.

With Hatter Pride,
Dr. Samuel González
