Meet the Counselors

About Me: Mrs. Italia  

Mrs. Italia began her journey in education in 1997 and made Hatboro-Horsham School District her home in 2008. Prior to joining HHSD, Mrs. Italia worked in North Carolina, Maryland, and Central Bucks School District in Pennsylvania. She has taught second grade, sixth grade, elementary gifted, middle school Mathematics and was also a high school counselor. She earned a B.A. degree in Psychology and Elementary Education certificate from Lycoming College in 1997, a M.Ed. degree in K-12 School Counseling from Loyola College in 2001, and a Curriculum and Instruction Supervision Certification from Lehigh University in 2007. Mrs. Italia is married and has two daughters and a son she adores. When not working at Crooked Billet, she enjoys spending time with her family and pet dog Bella and traveling near and far. Additionally, reading is her ultimate form of relaxation!

About Me: Mrs. Carner

Mrs. Carner is in her 17th year as a School Counselor. She has worked in both the Secondary and Elementary levels. She is currently the counselor for grades 3-5 at Crooked Billet Elementary School. Mrs. Carner received a Dual master’s degree in Social Work and Public Health from the University of Michigan and a School Counseling Certification from Rosemont College.  

Mrs. Carner loves the outdoors; hiking, paddle boarding, and is happiest when she is on the beach. She has traveled extensively, lived abroad, and throughout the United States. She currently lives with her husband Rob, 17-year-old son Ben (named after Obi Wan Kenobi), 14-year-old daughter Emma, and her 2-year-old dog Maizie. She also loves to read, watch movie marathons, The Price is Right, and getting to know each one of her students!
