8/31/20 Community Update

Greetings Hatboro-Horsham Families,

Today marks the official day of our staff returning as we prepare to welcome back our students for next Tuesday’s first day of the 2020-21 school year. Our staff has been investing a great deal of time and effort to prepare for the school year. This will be our 5th consecutive week of professional learning sessions. I know that we are eager to meet our students and begin forming relationships that will ensure a productive school year. Here is some additional pertinent information:

Food Services: With the help of many volunteers, our Food Service Department staff has done an outstanding job providing meals for the community throughout the spring and summer months, delivering over 30,000 meals. They will continue to offer breakfast and lunches while students are learning in the virtual environment. Click HERE for more Food Service details.

Technology: As of 8/31, the technology department has issued over 94% of the student devices, with more being scheduled for distribution this week. If you have not yet received a device for the school year, please visit HERE for more details and to sign up.

Athletics: The District informed the Suburban One League that it will follow the League recommended schedule adjustments and continue its interscholastic athletics and extra-curricular program in accordance with the Montgomery County Office of Public Health’s Guidance for Sports and the District’s Athletic Health and Safety Plan for grades 9-12. Participation is contingent upon the Suburban One League’s continuation of the Fall athletic season.

Immunizations: The state requirements for immunizations for this school year remain in place.  You should have received an email notification if your child needs to submit any of this information.  While there is no student exclusion during remote instruction, the student immunizations remain required with a state deadline for submission being extended for two months to 11/8/2020. Also, flu shots for this season are highly recommended. Additional information can be found HERE.

Thank you for your support as we look forward to starting a successful school year! Please stay safe and healthy.
