Director of Educational Affairs

Message from Dr. Brea D'Angelo

I am honored to serve the Hatboro-Horsham School District community as Director of Educational Affairs. Since joining the district in 2014, I have witnessed the dedication of our educators, the resilience of our students, and the enduring support of our families. In this expanded role, I work to strengthen the systems, programs, and connections that help every student thrive.

A core focus of my work is ensuring that students and families feel supported, informed, and connected. I lead the district’s communications, overseeing digital platforms and strategic messaging to build strong relationships and foster transparency. I also champion innovation by introducing tools such as artificial intelligence that are reshaping how we approach teaching and learning.

In addition to communications and innovation, I support academic programming, serve as the district’s Title IX Coordinator, and contribute to committees dedicated to safety and wellness. I guide new educators through a comprehensive induction program and help manage operational and technology systems that are essential to daily school operations.

Throughout my time in Hatboro-Horsham, I have had the privilege of serving in multiple leadership roles. As Director of Special Projects and Systems, I led the design and launch of our districtwide strategic plan, focused on growth, achievement, belonging, and post-secondary success. While Supervisor of Curriculum, I chaired the Achievement Task Force, advancing targeted supports and instructional improvements. My experiences as Principal of Pennypack Elementary, Assistant Principal at Keith Valley Middle School, and founding leader of Hatter Academy during the pandemic have given me valuable insight into the diverse needs of our learners.

Before coming to Hatboro-Horsham, I served as a teacher and administrator in the Lower Moreland School District, teaching English and Communications and supporting special education. Earlier in my career, I worked in radio and sports reporting, experiences that strengthened my communication skills and deepened my passion for community engagement. I currently teach in the Educational Leadership Master’s Program at Gwynedd Mercy University, which keeps me closely connected to research and best practices in the field.

What excites me most about this role is the opportunity to support every aspect of our educational system. I provide resources to students and families, champion the work of our teachers and administrators, and help build a connected school community. Together, we are laying the foundation for continued success in Hatboro-Horsham.
