  • Karen Kanter

    Mrs. Karen Kanter has been the educational leader at Simmons Elementary School since July 2007. Prior to becoming Principal at Simmons, Mrs. Kanter served as the Principal of Hallowell Elementary School for one year and as the Assistant Principal at Simmons Elementary School for three years. She is proud to lead the Simmons educational community with engaged students, dedicated faculty, and supportive families. During her tenure in the Hatboro-Horsham School District, Mrs. Kanter has developed strong connections with the local community through her work with the Friends of the Horsham Library and the Be a Part of the Conversation initiative.

    Mrs. Kanter holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bucknell University and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Temple University. She taught French at the middle school level, then taught preschool and kindergarten for several years. Prior to joining the Hatboro-Horsham School District, Mrs. Kanter was the Director of Curriculum and Admissions for Oak Lane Day School in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania.

    Mrs. Kanter lives in nearby Montgomery Township with her husband. Their daughter and son are married and live in New Jersey and Norway. Outside of school, Mrs. Kanter enjoys reading, knitting, baking, and traveling. If you have any questions and want to contact me, the information is below:
