    2020-2021 - HSA MEMBERSHIP FORM

    September 2020

    Dear Hatboro-Horsham High School Families,

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year from the HHHS Home and School Association. To our new high school families, we are excited to bring you into the Hatboro-Horsham High School environment.

We wanted to let you know, as so many other parent groups, we are having a tough time seeing a clear path forward for the year. It is the mission of the HSA to support the students and staff in a variety of ways. We support teachers, staff, administrators, families, and students with scholarships, fun events, and volunteering. Many of the things that bring us purpose as an organization are very much up in the air right now, it is essential to all of the board that we be honest and transparent with plans for the 2020-2021 school year.

With the loss of physically being in the building, we are losing several fall fundraising opportunities, such as football games bake sales, staff dress down days, and possible events like the dress sale and in-person designer bag bingo. Giant Food Stores Corporation has informed us that the “Giant food store A+” donation program, that so many of you participate in, has been discontinued.  This is a loss of $8000.00 to the HSA; a very complicated budget loss to make up this year.

All of our “Hatter” families have worked hard to help us build a strong financial foundation. We are happy to say that when we can return to school, we will be able to support 2021 Scholarships, Post Prom needs as well as other events during the last part of the year. However, we are always raising money for the next school year (juniors) and the next (sophomores) and the next (freshman).

We must be aware of careful spending until we get into a place of understanding how we can raise money for the future. We have plans started for “virtual” events and will look at other opportunities to fundraise in this climate. We are always looking for volunteers and ideas to help with current activities. If you are interested in being included in volunteer opportunities directly from the HSA, please note on the form below or email any board member.

All of that said, we are optimistic that you will be willing to help us right now by becoming a member of the Hatboro-Horsham Home and School family by paying membership and making a family donation that will help us for years to come. Each year the HSA awards $6000.00 in scholarships to graduating seniors, provides $30,000.00 for the Senior Post Prom (for a full event or $12,500 for a prize raffle for the senior class), as well as staff events/building needs.

Please take a moment to fill out the form below and send it in by September 30, 2020. For more information about the Home and School Association, please click on our link found under the Site Shortcuts on the high school HOME page and LIKE our Facebook page “Hatboro-Horsham High School HSA & Post Prom.”

Thank you in advance for supporting our programs and activities. Stay safe (and sane) & have a great school year!
