    Submission Procedures

    General Information

Submissions will be evaluated by the literature or art committee prior to selection for the Golden Pen. Criteria include: appropriateness, quality, appeal, originality, and creativity. You may not submit anonymous work; all work will be verified to belong to a student enrolled at HHHS. All submissions are submitted to the selection committees without identifying information so that judging remains open and fair. Staff members are permitted to submit their work under the same policies. You are encouraged to enter multiple submissions and in multiple categories: art, poetry, fiction and non-fiction. Good luck and thank you for submitting to the Golden Pen.

    Literature

All submissions should be typed and submitted as a Word document in order to be published by the Golden Pen. Please include your name, grade, homeroom teacher, and e-mail so that the Golden Pen can contact you with updates during our selection process. This information will not be used by our selection committee when evaluating your work.

    Artwork

All artwork must be in a JPEG format in order to be published by the Golden Pen. This means that sculptures, paintings, and other artwork must be photographed first. Each digital photo must have a minimum resolution of 300dpi and must be shown in the correct orientation (rotate images to the way you would like them to be displayed). Please include your name, grade, homeroom teacher, e-mail, title of the work, and the medium on a separate document so that the Golden Pen can contact you with updates during our selection process. Personal information will not be used by our submission committee when evaluating your work.
