Early Dismissal Procedure
Please send an excuse card with your student the day before or the morning of the early dismissal. Please have your student bring it to the Attendance Office upon their arrival to school. Your student will be given an early dismissal pass. This procedure is helpful because in most cases your student will be waiting for his/her parent/guardian or designated adult to sign them out.
Only a parent/guardian may sign a student out of school. If this is not possible, the Attendance Office will need a note in writing with signature stating who will be picking up the student.

Educational/Pre-arranged Trips Scheduled During the School Year
When a trip is planned the student must report to the Attendance Office to pick up a trip form. Instructions will be given to the student when they pick up the form. A parent/guardian signature is required. If there are special circumstances, please call the Attendance Office, 215-420-5071 to make them aware that your student will be absent.
The trip/event must be educationally sound for students (or academically beneficial).
The student is responsible for obtaining from teachers, prior to the scheduled trip/event, any assignments that will be missed. The student is responsible for any and all assignments within five (5) school days after the student has returned.
Requests for absences during the standardized test periods may be denied by building administration. You should refer to the school calendar for applicable dates.
The student should possess an acceptable school attendance record.
It is the responsiblity of the student to make their teachers aware of the trip and make arrangments for any work they have missed or will need to make up.

Excuse/Absence Card
Excuse cards are to be given to the homeroom teacher or the Attendance Office upon the student's return to school. If an excuse card is not received within 3 days of the student's return, it will be considered an unexcused absence.
If a child is absent 3 or more consecutive days a doctors note is needed upon their return. Please see Attendance Policy.
-
Late Arrival Procedure
If your student is late they may sign themselves into school. They should have a signed excuse card/note in hand including student's name, date and the reason they are late. You may also bring your student into school and complete an excuse card. If the student is coming from a doctor appointment please ask for an exit slip with the students name on it. This will be accepted.
Absences
-
Call (215) 420-5196 no later than 8:30 AM to excuse your child. Please leave your child’s name, their homeroom, and date of absence or lateness. Please note that you must also send a written note or an email within 3 days of your child returning to school. The information should include your child’s name, the reason for the absence, the date of the absence, and your signature.
Click here to fill out an electronic absence form that will be emailed to our school's secretary that also counts as your email submission for your student's absence.
Calling the absence line is NECESSARY, BUT ONLY WRITTEN NOTES or EMAILS TO THE SCHOOL OFFICE PROVIDE THE OFFICIAL DOCUMENTATION THAT WE NEED TO EXCUSE AN ABSENCE. Please be advised that multiple unlawful absences from school may result in disciplinary actions and/or a truancy citation filed with the local district court.
To contact the Attendance Office between the hours of 8 A.M. and 3 P.M., please call 215-420-5071, Mrs. Joanne Daley, Secretary.
