Course Description: Film Production is a Communications/Language Arts course that provides students with a basic overview of filmmaking techniques, basic camera shots, movements and also storytelling through the screenplay.Students participate in classroom and laboratory activities regarding all aspects of film: performance, production, and operations. Upon successful completion of this course, students will have enhanced communications skills and a better understanding of film production, as well as film’s impact on society. Students are also prepared for further study in film and/or TV Production at the college level. This course is a prerequisite for all other advanced courses in the Television Production/Communications program.Many of the projects from this course also become submissions for local, regional and national film & video festivals. Hatboro-Horsham HS has been recognized as an award winning Film and Television program.
