The award-winning Marching Unit, under the coordination of Mr. Tony Perez, has been at the top of the competition circuit for many years. It is one of the most successful and consistent competitive marching bands in the state. The reputation and quality of the Marching Unit is second to none in the area.
Under the direction of Mr. Schopp, this instrumental class is dedicated to the mastery of the highest quality of band literature. Many students go on from this ensemble to participate in Montco Band, District, Region, State and All-Eastern Festivals. Students develop skills in playing, sight-reading and instrumental technique. Students in grades 10, 11 and 12 are eligible to audition for Honors Band for a more rigorous course of study.
Under the direction of Mr. Jeff Darrohn, this group is by audition only and extra-curricular. The group stresses instrumental technique, improvisational skills and styles inherent in the jazz idiom. The group performs in an extensive competition circuit and at many community functions. See Mr. Darrohn early in the school year for audition material and criteria.
