The Hatboro-Horsham Marching Unit is under the direction of Mr. Bob Molloy and assistant director Ms. Westcott. The group rehearses once or twice a week throughout the summer to maintain its standard of excellence in the Cavalcade of Bands competition circuit. During the school year, rehearsals run on Mondays and Wednesdays 6-9PM. Members are also expected to attend Friday football games to perform as a pep band, and numerous Saturday competitions throughout November. Contact Mr. Molloy or Ms. Westcott if you are interested in joining the Marching Unit.

Under the direction of Ms. Westcott, the Concert Band is the only performing band ensemble at Hatboro-Horsham High School that also runs as a class during the school day. Many students in the concert band successfully audition for and participate in honors ensembles such as Montco Band, PMEA District 11 Band, PMEA Region 6 Band, All-State, and All-Eastern Festivals. In this class, students develop skills in playing, sight-reading and instrumental technique. The concert band performs in four concerts throughout the course of the year: the Winter Concert (December), All Band Night (late February/early March), the Music in Our Schools Month concert (March), and the Spring Concert (early May). Contact Ms. Westcott if you are interested in joining the Concert Band.

Under the direction of Mr. Chris Kuczynski, this group is by audition only and rehearses on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. The group stresses instrumental technique, improvisational skills and styles inherent in the jazz idiom. The group performs in an extensive competition circuit and at many community functions. Contact Mr. Kuczynski early in the school year for audition material and criteria.

These award-winning groups are a winter extension of the fall Marching Unit activities. Both groups rehearse on Mondays and Wednesdays, 6-9PM, and also compete on Saturdays through January to April. Contact Mr. Molloy if you are interested in joining either of these groups.
