I am humbled and honored to join the Hatboro-Horsham School District as the Director of Educational Programming to support the students, staff, and families. Joining a community with such rich traditions and a vision for the future excites me for the possibilities ahead. Together, I am confident that we can ensure that our students will enter our schools feeling a strong sense of belonging and pride as well as have access to the resources and support they need to be successful in our schools.
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Shippensburg University, a Master of Arts degree in school administration from Gardner Webb University, and a Doctorate in K-12 educational leadership as well as a Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility from Immaculata University.
As an educator, I truly believe that all students have something special to contribute to the fabric of a school community to make it a special place. I also believe that when we create environments where students feel safe, welcomed, and supported, success becomes inevitable. Prior to joining the Hatboro-Horsham School District, I served as an elementary school principal, middle school principal, and athletic director in the School District of Springfield Township in Montgomery County. During my time in Springfield Township, I was able to support and lead key aspects of our equity initiatives, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) process, and student and staff sense of belonging. I began my teaching career in Charlotte, North Carolina as a primary elementary school teacher before relocating back to the area where I taught intermediate grades in the North Penn School District. Teaching and learning remain my passion. Currently, I serve as an adjunct professor where I teach graduate-level courses in special education, curriculum theory, and mathematical literacy. In my role as Director of Educational Programming, I will be collaborating and partnering with various departments including English language development, special education, and special services to develop systems to eliminate barriers and ensure that our students have adequate resources to be successful in our schools. In addition, I will be partnering with our schools to provide targeted support through our federal programs to ensure that resources and programs are targeted and designed to meet the diverse needs of students. For each of these areas, I am committed to applying an equitable framework that invites and engages the voices of our students, staff, and families. I am excited to be a part of and begin contributing to this amazing school community.
