• Hatboro-Horsham Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program

    Program Information

    At the May 17, 2021 action meeting, the Hatboro-Horsham School District (HHSD) Board of Directors unanimously approved a tax rebate property that could see a discount of up to $162.50 per Resident.   This program being offered by the HHSD is in addition to the Pennsylvania Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program. 

    To qualify for this discount-refund, applicants must have completed and received a refund from the Pennsylvania Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program.   To qualify applicants must have a household income of no more than $35,000 annually, and:

    • be 65 years of age or older: or
    • be a widow or widower aged 50 years of age or older; or
    • be permanently disabled and 18 years of age of older.

    The property tax and rent rebate program is based upon the existing Pennsylvania Property Tax and Rent Rebate program which has been in effect since 1971 and is funded by the state lottery and slot machine proceeds.  Hatboro-Horsham Residents must qualify for the state rebate program to qualify for the district rebate program.

    Homeowners and Renters that filed a 2020 Pennsylvania Rebate Application in 2021 (with proof of a PAID 2020 Tax Bill ), from July 1, 2021 to June 20, 2022 and have proof of that refund can fill out the attached HHSD Rebate application form and submit it along with the required document as directed on the application.   Questions on the form can be directed to the Tax Office via phone at 215-420-5023 or email at kpassana@hatboro-horsham.org and/or call or visit your local legislator.   If you do not have access to a printer the application form can also be obtained at the HHSD Administration Building, 229 Meetinghouse Road, Horsham PA 19044, and your local legislator.   You can submit the application by mail or place in the secured tax drop box located at the same address, 229 Meetinghouse Road, Horsham PA 19044.     Q: Do I need to attach a copy of my paid school bill?

    A: No copies of tax bill are required since you have already supplied that information to the State to qualify for the refund

    Q: Will a copy of bank statement be sufficient as a receipt of the amount set forth on the HHSD application Part D, line (b)?

    A:  Yes

    Q: Is anyone available at the disitrct office to answer questions?
