Summer Reading SuggestionsPLEASE NOTE: AP English students, please see assignment below.
The summer is a wonderful time to read a book. Not only does it keep our brains active and engaged in critical thinking, increases our vocabulary, and assists us in becoming better writers, it provides us with an opportunity to explore our interests and opens new worlds for us.
While the Hatboro-Horsham High School English department works to help students develop strong reading habits during the school year with our mandatory reading curriculum, we strongly encourage students to continue these reading habits over the summer through reading self-selected books. Therefore, although this summer reading is not mandatory, the HHHS English department believes this summer reading is important for the academic and mental growth of our students.
Below is a list of suggested readings. While these lists have not been compiled by the English teachers at HHHS, these lists are representative of high-interest texts with literary merit.
