Welcome to the Pennypack Elementary School Website
This website will help you learn more about our school and the exciting things we are doing with our students. Pennypack School is located in Hatboro, PA and was opened in 1956 for kindergarten through sixth grade. The school was closed for a short time from 1984 to 1988 due to declining enrollment. However, as our district enrollment increased, the school reopened in 1988 with a group of educators who voluntarily transferred to Pennypack. In 1997 Pennypack earned State and National Blue Ribbon honors for excellence in education from the United States Department of Education. Pennypack proudly celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2006.
Pennypack serves approximately 275 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. We are proud of our family-like atmosphere, our emphasis on educating the whole child, and our reputation in the community as a warm and caring place to learn. We hold high, but realistic expectations for our students, and our mission as a staff is to help all children reach these expectations so that they will develop a love of learning that will continue throughout their lives. This is accomplished through a challenging academic curriculum and a full range of special area subjects, such as art, music, library, physical education, health, and technology. In addition we provide specials education and gifted support services to those children who qualify for them.
We have an enthusiastic parent association (HSA) that supports us throughout the year by providing funding for assemblies and school-wide initiatives. The HSA also sponsors monthly family activities and a six week After School Fun Program that offers different classes for children based on their interests. We invite all Pennypack parents to attend our meetings and get involved in our activities.
This year I look forward to working with all the staff, students, and parents that make Pennypack such a special place. Please feel free to contact me at any time throughout the school year with your suggestions or comments.
