Technology available at Elementary Schools

2004-2005

 

Hardware:

  • Classroom Computers: 3 Classroom computers are available in Grades Kindergarten through Grade Five.
  • Computer Lab:  a Computer Lab is available at each elementary school.
  • Wireless Laptop Cart:  12 Hewlett Packard Wireless Laptops with Cart and Network Printer.  These laptops are available for teachers to sign out for curriculum projects. 
  • Alphasmart Cart:  30 small portable devices. The AlphaSmart 3000 allows students to enter and edit text, then send it to any computer for formatting or directly to a printer. Its portability allows students to use it anywhere and anytime - in the classroom, at home, or on field trips.  The Alphasmart Cart is available for teachers to sign out for writing projects.

  • *White Board:  One Whiteboard is available at each elementary school and can be signed out by teachers .

  • Handheld Computers:  A set of handheld computers will be available to elementary teachers for special classroom projects or field trips.  Coordination of these handheld devices are through the Instructional Technology Specialist.  These handheld computers will be piloted this fall and then available for sign up through the Instructional Technology Specialist this spring.

  • Digital Video Cameras:   These cameras are available for use with curriculum projects.  
 
  • Digital Still Cameras:  Sony digital cameras are available for use with curriculum projects.  Sign out and use will be coordinated through building ITS or CITs.

 

  • In Focus Projectors:  Current sign out and use is coordinated through building ITS or CITs.
