Peace Day
We have talked about this idea multiple times before now. Basically this is going to be a day where we inform our peers about issues around the world that they most likely do not know about. We thought about having different "stations"-so to speak- in the cafeteria during lunch (most likely 4th period because we don't have many underclassmen members) and each "station" would have a different cause or issue that is problematic somewhere in the world. At the meeting we talked about having a quiz/scavenger hunt type deal at the tables that each person could enter into a raffle and then win a t-shirt. Or perhaps another incentive to have people come to each table and learn about world issues? Please e-mail back with creative ideas we could do with this! First step is to get this event all organized and figured out so we can present it to the administration and get approval, so we can start putting up flyers and such telling people Peace Day is coming and to wear their shirts (this will also be an incentive to buy a shirt).

T-shirt sales
We have come to the conclusion that these shirts are not selling very well, therefore we decided to order our own first so that we can all coordinate to wear them one day and then hopefully people will want to buy them! Unfortunately with this idea we will not make any money on these shirts but thats okay because it's only a few for right now. So, to do this i need your shirt size, color and $10 ASAP. After we get our shirts we will hopefully have them approved for selling to the whole school (originally we were not going to have them approved, but if we are going to put up signs about them we probably should).

 Next meeting
Next meeting is February 18th after school. In order to further our peers understanding of world issues we must first further our own, therefore at this meeting we will be sharing some researched issues. This is not formal, you don't have to write anything, we want this to be fun (so maybe just a quick summary of your topic, although the more detail you give us, the more we will be able to discuss). So just do a little research maybe on BBC.com or search "world news" on google or just watch the news to find a topic and do a little more research. We would like everyone to have a different topic, so if you found one that interests you please reply to this e-mail stating what you will be sharing so that no two people do the same topic. At the meeting we will just be sharing and discussing each of our topics.

Meetings
So, we know everyone has a busy schedule, just like ourselves so we want to know what works best for you in terms of meetings. After school? Directed study (which one)? Days you absolutely cannot make it? Those of you who attended the meeting we decided every other Monday after school but this is subject to change, so please e-mail back with your availability.
