I wanted to take the time to let you know how much my husband and I appreciate the opportunity that Suzie has had with the internship program through Hatboro-Horsham High School. As you are aware, Suzie travels quite a distance to the Weidner School for physically and mentally handicapped two days a week. She has fallen in love with the school, the students and the overall environment of being a teacher for children with special needs. It is very comforting to know that Suzie has chosen her career path because of having direct contact and experience in the field. In fact, she is choosing her college based on who has the best program for Special Education/Elementary Education.
Thank you for support and encouragement as a teacher to Suzie. Even though we have had to juggle cars around every Tuesday and Thursday, it's been great to know that Suzie is doing something that she loves. The kids make her smile and she continually talks about them to the family. This opportunity has also been a great help on her college transcripts. She has learned so much and it is exciting to see her excited about her future. If she ever has to miss a day, she finds time to go another day. I admire her dedication and it's great to see that she has matured into a more responsible young woman through this experience. I wanted to thank you and the school district for providing such a great opportunity for our children.

A few professions require student interns to obtain clearances. This is especially true if you plan on working with children outside of our school district.
